The cost for tutoring depends on the requested service, year level, complexity, and if any planning or reporting time is required. If you are looking for one-to-one tutoring, please get in contact so I can give you an accurate quote based on your family's needs. Please be aware that I am only taking a limited number of students at the moment and may need to add you to my waiting list.

This is highly dependent on your learner and their goals. Some students may require support for one assessment. Other students may be looking for ongoing support, in which case we recommend seeing your tutor at least once per week. For primary-aged students, we recommend that they attend tutoring for a maximum of 1 hour blocks. Secondary-aged students may benefit from longer tutoring sessions of 1 - 2 hours.

We sure do - you can find it at the bottom of this page. The safety of children is my utmost priority. I have a current teacher registration and a valid blue card exemption card (Working with Children Check). I require another responsible adult be within earshot and within sight of the child whether I am interacting with your child online or in person. Ideally, this will be a parent / carer of the child.  If your child is receiving in-person tutoring, this will be scheduled in a public place (e.g. a library) or in my home office with the student's parent / carer in the room. I will require a signature from the student's parent / carer at the end of every in-person session to certify that the parent / carer was present for the entirety of the session. Please refer to my Child Safety Policy for further details.

I am able to provide resources, however not every student requires this. If your student needs extra support with a personalised tutoring program, I will plan these sessions and provide resources as required. This does increase the cost per hour as planning time is required for these sessions. If you are just looking for homework and assessment support (Grade 1 - 10), I will not provide resources and my rate will be lower. Your student will need to bring their homework, questions, and/or school assessments to these sessions.

This is highly dependent on the student and their goals. Tutoring is not magic - it does not automatically result in academic improvement. Tutoring offers a dedicated space for a student to ask questions and practice their learning, with the guidance of an experienced educator. However, the biggest determiner of a student's academic performance is the student. Students who engage with tutoring, ask questions, and practice consistently during the week are more likely to see academic improvements in a short timeframe.

I am able to provide a report to the parent/carer at the end of each term, on request. This report will include the initial intake assessment, student goals, a summary of each tutoring session, and end of term outcomes. A parent / carer should also be present for every tutoring session, as per my child safety policy.

I have extensive experience working with disengaged children, both within the classroom and in one-to-one tutoring arrangements. I will work with your child to understand their interests and motivations, and help them achieve their individual goals. Working one-to-one with a teacher is very different from a classroom situation, where students can feel unseen and scared to ask questions. When students have dedicated tutoring sessions, they are able to ask questions and practice their knowledge in a safe environment. I have worked with many students who have come to enjoy their tutoring sessions with me and who have experienced an improvement in their confidence and academic outcomes.
